Students learn about explosive devices and how to search an automobile for such a device (see IED Awareness and Recognition course for a stand alone course on this subject). Students see how much protection an average automobile can provide from direct fire weapons. They are also trained in ways to evacuate an automobile that is disabled and under attack, as well as basic defensive tactics and edged weapon defensive techniques

Sample Training Schedule:
0900-0945 Vehicle Bomb Search Lecture. Students are familiarized with the different types of explosive devices which may be emplaced on an automobile. They are shown a technique tothoroughly search an auto for a hastily employed explosive device. The search is conducted as a deterrent to the criminal/terrorist who is searching for an easy victim.
0945-1030 Vehicle Bomb Search Exercise. Students search an automobile for explosive devices.
1030-1115 Car Shoot Demonstration. An automobile is shot in different components, with different caliber munitions, to show the protection an average car can provide.
1115-1230 Evacuation Drills. Considerations for evacuating your vehicle which is disabled and under attack (armed and unarmed). Tactical movement from your vehicle, using it for cover.
